The Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) announced that the 17th annual Greater Palm Springs Summit will be held on Thursday, November 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Sponsorship opportunities and registration are now open.

The theme for this year’s event is Pursuit, to highlight the regional economic opportunities and strategic goals for sustainable, diversified growth in the Coachella Valley. “We chose Pursuit as the theme because this past year brought a level of business development collaboration unlike any we’ve seen before,” says Joe Wallace, CVEP President and CEO. “Over the years, we have made great strides in raising awareness of the potential here in the Valley and building collaboration with various entities. Due to the pandemic, several organizations came together to facilitate economic collaboration. The morning event will showcase our region’s business diversification strategies and goals to mobilize a long-term sustainable effort to elevate the economy of the Coachella Valley.”

The first announced speaker for the annual event is Manfred Keil, Ph.D., an expert in comparative economics with extensive knowledge of the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley. Dr. Keil will deliver and break down the significance of findings in CVEP’s 2021 annual economic report and forecast. Dr. Keil is an associate professor of economics at Claremont McKenna College and former chairman of the faculty at the college’s Robert Day School of Economics and Finance. He specializes in banking, comparative economic performance, macroeconomics, and statistics. His research has appeared in the Journal of Macroeconomics, Oxford Economic Papers, Southern Economic Journal, and Canadian Public Policy.

The premier business event of the year will be virtual again this year due to the resurgent COVID outbreak. Traditionally this event draws more than 800 of the region’s business, civic, and education leaders. It’s an excellent and rare opportunity to hear from some of the area’s leaders, influencers and decision makers.
