Nachhattar Chandi, President and CEO of Chandi Group USA, will become the new chairman overseeing the Palm Springs International Film Society and the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Harold Matzner has stepped down as Chairman of the organization after two decades of leadership. Matzner served as Chairman starting in 2000 and was instrumental in turning the Palm Springs International Film Festival and Film Awards into a world-class event and a key stop during awards season. “I will continue to be active in the film festival and film awards,” Matzner said, “Chandi is a very successful and strong leader, and we are so lucky that he is interested in taking on this role with the festival.”
Chandi is a recognized and honored leader with more than 30 years of experience and is a decisively driven entrepreneur who owns and operates over 30 businesses, with more than 700 employees across the Coachella Valley and throughout the state of California. “The festival is important to the Coachella Valley and the community, and I want to help carry on that legacy,” said Chandi.
