Hyatt Regency Indian Wells to Rebrand as Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas Following $64 Million Renovation

By Bob Marra

Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Trinity Investments have announced that the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa will be rebranded as the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas. This rebranding is scheduled for September 2024, coinciding with the completion of an extensive $64 million renovation project.

The renovation aims to elevate the resort’s luxury offerings, featuring redesigned guestrooms and luxury villas, an expanded lobby, enhanced meeting and event spaces, two new dining concepts, and a revamped pool complex with additional cabanas. The project is managed by the Southern California design firm IndiDesign, which has infused the resort’s new look with elements inspired by the surrounding desert landscape and mid-century modern design.

Guestroom and Villa Enhancements

The redesigned accommodations will include 531 guestrooms and 39 spacious suites, all reflecting the serene beauty of the Indian Wells locale with neutral color palettes and tasteful wood accents. The luxury villas will offer exclusive features such as private backyards with hot tubs or plunge pools, artisanal furniture, and access to an adults-only spa. These enhancements aim to provide guests with a sophisticated and intimate resort experience.

New Dining Concepts

In collaboration with Chef Angelo Sosa, the resort will introduce two new dining concepts: Tía Carmen and Carmocha. Tía Carmen will celebrate the local landscape and community with a modern Californian flair, while Carmocha will offer a unique take on global small plates inspired by Chef Sosa’s international culinary experiences. These new restaurants will debut ahead of the resort’s grand opening in late summer 2024.

Revamped Pool Complex

The pool area will be significantly upgraded to include expanded cabanas suitable for large groups and families, new dining options such as a food truck serving Italian bites, and a refreshed poolside café. The resort will also feature HyTides, the largest waterpark in the Greater Palm Springs area, with multiple pools, dueling waterslides, and a lazy river.

Meeting and Event Spaces

The Grand Hyatt Indian Wells will offer 88,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, including recently revitalized ballrooms, meeting rooms, and boardrooms. The new event spaces will provide breathtaking views and are designed to accommodate weddings, corporate retreats, and other special events.

Wellbeing Offerings

In line with Hyatt’s commitment to well-being, the resort will introduce new programming and enhancements to the Agua Serena Spa. The property has also partnered with Kalologie MedSpa to offer services such as IV hydration therapy and B12 energy boosts. Additionally, guests will have access to tennis and pickleball courts and the two adjacent Indian Wells Golf Resort courses.
