Nicholas Kabetso has been newly appointed to lead the four restaurant and bar concepts at the award-winning Kimpton The Rowan Palm Springs as Director of Restaurants, Bars & Events. Working alongside Executive Chef Dan Grunbeck, Kabetso plays a key role in operational strategy, development and management for the culinary, beverage, and events programming at 4 Saints, Juniper Table, High Bar, and Window Bar in addition to the 153-room downtown Palm Springs hotel.
Kabetso comes to Palm Springs with more than 16 years of hospitality industry experience including several food & beverage leadership positions at resorts in Hawaii, Las Vegas and Connecticut. He most recently served as Director of Food & Beverage at Hilton Anaheim where he oversaw all food & beverage operations spanning culinary, banquets and seven dining outlets within the Orange County convention hotel.
“Nicholas brings renewed energy, expertise and perspective to our leadership team as we continue to innovate and elevate our programming,” said Kimpton The Rowan Palm Springs General Manager Peggy Trott. “While our industry has been impacted tremendously over the past several months, Nicholas’ passion, creativity and demonstrated success are assets as we navigate today and plan ahead for the brighter tomorrow.”
Among Kabetso’s immediate focus areas are maintaining the momentum for the Dinner Under the Stars rooftop dining series and enhancing the outdoor dining experience at Juniper Table with an emphasis on the food menu. His future initiatives include evolving the concept at High Bar, relaunching 4 Saints, and guiding banquets and catering.
“Palm Springs is a remarkable city, and I am proud to join the Kimpton family and local community,” said Kabetso. “I’m excited to work with Chef Dan to further establish 4 Saints, Juniper Table, High Bar and Window Bar as destinations, each in their own right, and create memorable ‘wow’ moments for each and every guest.”
