Desert Cancer Foundation (DCF) has appointed Mark Scheibach as Executive Director. As Executive Director, Scheibach will provide vision and leadership to DCF, oversight of the organization’s patient assistance programming and services, and be responsible for the implementation of all strategic fundraising opportunities and special events.
Originally from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Scheibach has been a hospitality executive for over 20 years including serving as General Manager/Chief Operating Officer at Avondale Golf Club in Palm Desert and The Quarry at La Quinta. Most recently he served as General Manager of The Thermal Club. Prior to entering the hospitality field, Scheibach was a professional golfer, competing on the PGA Tour, Nike/Buy.com Tour, and Canadian Tour among others. In addition, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors for Desert Cancer Foundation since 2014 before resigning to oversee the day-to-day operations.
“Desert Cancer Foundation is proud to welcome Mark Scheibach as our new Executive Director. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership strength that will help make our organization even stronger and allow us to better help those that are in need. As a long-time, past board member, he understands how DCF functions and we are all excited about the opportunities that lie ahead”, stated Frank Harrison, President of the Board of Directors. “We are very fortunate to have someone of Mark’s caliber and experience.”
“I know first-hand from my time on the Board of Directors the incredible impact Desert Cancer Foundation makes on cancer patients and their families in the Coachella Valley,” states Scheibach. “I am excited to work with my colleagues to build on the strengths of the Foundation and advance it to even greater heights.”
