The Palm Springs International Film Society has hired fundraising expert, Susan C. Sack, as Business Development & Sponsorship Manager. With more than two decades of experience as a visionary leader and chief fundraising executive for major academic and medical institutions, she will be responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with sponsors, partners, and donors, as well as assisting in all aspects of development for the organization.
Sack recently spent more than three years as founding director of the ASH Foundation, the charitable arm of the American Society of Hematology, where she led a successful fundraising program for a medical society with more than 17,000 members. This followed a nearly 18-year position as Senior Director of Development for the University of Nebraska Foundation, focused on its medical center, natural history museum, art museum, and other institutions. Prior to her fundraising work, she spent seven years with Robert Miller Gallery, a prestigious contemporary art gallery in New York City, finishing her tenure as assistant director. She graduated from Brown University with a double major in art history and history. Sack lives in Rancho Mirage and has spent time in the greater Palm Springs area for nearly 25 years.
“We are thrilled to welcome Susan to the Palm Springs International Film Society,” said Festival Chairman Nachhattar Chandi. “Her long history of leadership and years of experience make her an incredible asset to our team, and we are looking forward to seeing what she can accomplish in the coming years.”
“I am excited and grateful to join the team at the Palm Springs International Film Society as the new Manager of Business Development and Sponsorships,” said Sack. “I look forward to deploying my expertise in philanthropy with my lifelong devotion to the visual arts, supporting the society’s mission: to nurture and showcase the very best in innovative film-making and in so doing to strengthen cross-cultural connections. With our terrific staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors, I am confident that together we will inspire benefactors to give generously to our film festivals and our year-round educational programs.”
