Palm Springs Airport Lands More Year-Round Flights

Staff & Wire Reports

Palm Springs International Airport has landed another year-round route. Swoop Airlines, a Canadian ultra-low-cost airline, announced its intent to expand service at PSP.

Swoop began flying to Palm Springs in December 2021 with twice-weekly seasonal service to Edmonton, Canada. The airline will expand its Edmonton route and convert it to year-round service, giving Greater Palm Springs residents another year-round route and a great option to escape the summer heat.

“We’re excited to see Swoop expand at PSP,” said Harry Barrett, Interim Executive Director of Aviation. “We continually work with our partner, Visit Greater Palm Springs, to build a business case for airlines to add more year-round routes at PSP, which is a priority for local residents and businesses alike.”

In 2022, Palm Springs International Airport will have nine airlines offering 16 year-round routes, up from six airlines and ten year-round routes in 2019, which was the busiest year on record for the airport. PSP currently has nonstop flights to 35 airports on 13 airlines during the Valley’s annual tourist season, the highest number of routes the airport has ever had. Tickets for the expanded service are already on sale at FlySwoop.com
