The platform provides the opportunity weigh in on specific projects as well as offer comments of a more general nature. Current Engage Palm Desert project pages include the Presidents’ Plaza renovation and the Walk and Roll Palm Desert initiative, which looks to identify recommendations for improving the City’s walking and bicycling network.
Residents can use the Map Palm Desert page on an ongoing basis to identify things they love about and ways to improve their community. Sharing those new ideas is as simple as dropping a pin on the map and typing a related comment or suggestion. General questions can be added to the Ask City Hall page, making it easier than ever before for residents to connect with Palm Desert City Hall.
City staff members monitor Engage Palm Desert, responding to questions and comments daily. Feedback is essential because Palm Desert’s committees, commissions, and City Council consider it in their decisions. Recently the public was asked to vote on a public art installation for the San Pablo and San Gorgonio roundabout. This survey received several hundred votes, and the City Council ultimately selected the top vote-getter due to the public’s preference.
