The VIMY Award is presented annually by Volunteers in Medicine (VIM), the only free healthcare clinic in Greater Palm Springs, to recognize and celebrate an individual or organization who has made significant contributions to healthcare in the region. This year, the organization is honoring KESQ TV chief meteorologist Patrick Evans with this prestigious community award in recognition of his impact on numerous charities through his time, talent and other support.
Patrick has served on several local nonprofit boards and helped raise tens of thousands of dollars through his donations of Fulvio’s Sausage, chef-prepared meals in homes of fortunate auction bidders, and his emcee and auctioneering talents for many charities. Past honorees of the VIMY Award include Howard Lincoln, a retired priest and philanthropist, Desert Healthcare District & Foundation, and Dr. Ronald Hare, a renowned local businessman, philanthropist and founder of VIM.
The 2024 VIMY Awards will be held at The Show at Agua Caliente Resort Casino & Spa in Rancho Mirage on Thursday, December 12. VIM Executive Director, Doug Morin commented, “This event is crucial to raise the funds needed to support more than 5,000 patient care contacts each year for preventive and wellness care, primary care, chronic disease management and medical outreach to unhoused persons. We are delighted to recognize Patrick Evans for his meaningful community impact on the valley’s nonprofit and healthcare organizations, including Volunteers in Medicine.”
The event will also feature entertainment by the Rat Pack Tribute Show, Las Vegas’s most famous tribute band to the original Rat Pack. It promises to be an unforgettable evening of recognition and entertainment!
