On Sunday, May 9, 2021 Southwest Airlines will start their new non-stop service from Palm Springs to Las Vegas.
Southwest announced the new service in March of this year, and it will initially operate once a day on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays. In June Southwest is expanding the route and will provide Coachella Valley residents with one daily non-stop flight to Las Vegas seven days a week. Southwest started flying to Palm Springs in November of 2020 and the new Las Vegas route will bring their total destinations served from Palm Springs to four including Denver, Phoenix, and Oakland.
“This new non-stop flight from Palm Springs to Las Vegas has been one of the most requested routes over the past decade. The Coachella Valley and our local hospitality and tourism partners will see a great economic benefit with this new service.” said Justin Clifton, Palm Springs City Manager, “I know our local residents are extremely happy that Southwest Airlines chose to add Palm Springs to their network, and the City of Palm Springs is appreciative of their continued growth at Palm Springs International Airport.”
“We are thrilled that Southwest Airlines has added the direct Las Vegas route, offering a convenient and affordable option for visitors from all over to travel to Greater Palms Springs. This new year-round route opens up many other gateway markets into our beautiful destination,” said Colleen Pace, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for the Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau.
