Ranch House Bar & Grill will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, October 23, at 4 p.m., introducing a new restaurant concept at the former Jackalope Ranch property located at 80-400 Highway 111 in Indio.
The opening marks a new chapter for the landmark east valley destination, featuring a complete rebranding and a refreshed dining experience that combines modern rustic surroundings with an extensive selection of American favorites, house-smoked specialties and signature cocktails.
“This property has always been a special place in the Coachella Valley, and we wanted to build on that legacy while creating something entirely new,” said Marc Redman, General Manager of Ranch House Bar & Grill. “We’ve preserved the distinctive character and beautiful surroundings that have made this such a memorable destination, while introducing a new restaurant concept, a new chef and a menu that offers something for everyone. Our goal is to make Ranch House a place where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a great meal, gather with friends and family, and celebrate special occasions in a truly unique setting.”
Ranch House Bar & Grill offers a diverse menu designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes and dining occasions. Highlights include several smoker-prepared selections, along with signature prime steaks that can be paired with shrimp or scallops for a surf-and-turf combination. The menu also features salads, hand-tossed pizzas, pastas, burgers, sandwiches and a variety of starters.

The Ranch House will offer an extensive menu within what is one of the region’s largest and most unique independent restaurants.
Guests can also enjoy an extensive bar menu featuring flatbreads, sliders and other shareable favorites, complemented by signature cocktails and alcohol-free mocktails. Ranch House Bar & Grill will have one of the most expansive Happy Hours in the desert – from 4-9 p.m. daily in the indoor and outdoor bar areas (excluding holidays). This includes drinks specials from $7 draft beers to $9 house wine and $9 margaritas. Happy Hour food specials range from Chili Cheese Tator Tots and flatbreads to Angus and Pulled Pork sliders and the Ranch House Sampler – with some of the restaurant’s most popular bites that is perfect for sharing.
One of the property’s most distinctive features is its expansive outdoor dining environment, with towering palms, lush gardens, cascading waterfalls, dramatic boulder formations and a rose garden. The restaurant also features five main indoor dining areas, incorporating natural stone, rich wood finishes, iron accents, artwork and warm lighting. Together, these spaces provide guests with a variety of dining experiences.
Beyond its restaurant operations, Ranch House Bar & Grill will serve as a venue for weddings, private celebrations, corporate functions and other special events. The property offers approximately 26,000 square feet of indoor space and 15,000 square feet of outdoor space, with event accommodations ranging from intimate gatherings of 15 guests to large-scale functions of up to 1,200 attendees. Available spaces include four patios, three private rooms accommodating 20 to 80 guests, and a garden court with capacity for up to 150 guests.
The property has a notable history in the Coachella Valley. Originally developed by legendary restaurateur Don Callender, whose family founded the Marie Callender’s restaurant brand, the site was envisioned as a distinctive dining destination combining extensive indoor gathering spaces with elaborate landscaping, stonework and water features enjoyed on the property’s large patio. Today’s Ranch House Bar & Grill represents a new chapter for the property, preserving its recognizable architectural and landscape features while introducing an entirely new restaurant identity, culinary direction and guest experience.
With its combination of indoor and outdoor dining, broad menu offerings and special event facilities, Ranch House Bar & Grill aims to reestablish the Highway 111 property as a dining and gathering destination for Coachella Valley residents and visitors.
Weekly special entertainment includes Two-step Tuesdays with Big John from KPLM, and Friday Night Sparks, featuring Nikki Sparks every Friday night.
