GPS Business Insider respects your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information when you visit gpsbusinessinsider.com, subscribe to a newsletter, create an account, purchase a digital product, contact us, or otherwise interact with GPS.

GPS Business Insider is a California sole proprietorship located at 74774 Highway 111, Indian Wells, California 92210.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with GPS, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact information, such as name, email address, telephone number, billing address, employer, job title, and organization.
  • Account information, such as username, encrypted password or authentication data, account preferences, membership plan, assigned team, and account status.
  • Commercial information, such as products viewed or purchased, orders, subscriptions, renewal and cancellation history, coupons, team-seat assignments, download history, and customer-service records.
  • Payment-related information, such as payment method type, transaction identifiers, billing status, and limited card details supplied by a payment processor. GPS does not intend to store complete payment-card numbers or security codes.
  • Communications, such as emails, forms, survey responses, correction requests, support inquiries, and other messages.
  • Newsletter and marketing information, such as subscription status, campaign delivery, opens, clicks, preferences, and unsubscribe activity.
  • Internet and device information, such as IP address, browser, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, date and time, approximate location derived from IP address, and cookie or similar identifiers.
  • Usage and access information, such as sign-in events, session activity, protected pages viewed, reports downloaded, and activity used to secure accounts and enforce licenses.
  • Submitted content, such as comments, letters, photographs, announcements, or other material you choose to send.

We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, precise geolocation, health information, biometric identifiers, or other sensitive personal information unless it is reasonably necessary for a specific transaction or legal purpose and clearly requested.

Sources of information

We collect information:

  • directly from you;
  • automatically from your browser or device;
  • from payment, email, analytics, hosting, security, and account-service providers;
  • from a team-account owner or organization that assigns access to you;
  • from public records and publicly available sources used in journalism or research; and
  • from business partners, sponsors, or referral sources when permitted by law.

Personal information used solely for journalistic, editorial, or research content may be governed by different legal rules than customer and website data.

How we use information

We may use personal information to:

  • operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website;
  • create and administer accounts, subscriptions, memberships, and team seats;
  • process orders, payments, renewals, cancellations, and refunds;
  • provide HTML reports, downloads, newsletters, and customer support;
  • authenticate users and prevent credential sharing, fraud, abuse, and security threats;
  • communicate about purchases, renewals, policy changes, service notices, and requests;
  • send newsletters and marketing communications when permitted;
  • understand readership, website performance, campaign engagement, and product demand;
  • personalize content and offers;
  • maintain business, tax, accounting, and legal records;
  • enforce agreements and protect rights, safety, and property;
  • comply with law and respond to lawful requests; and
  • pursue another purpose disclosed when the information is collected.

How we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • service providers that support hosting, website operation, ecommerce, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, customer support, security, backups, accounting, and professional advice;
  • an organization purchasing or administering a team membership, with respect to users and activity associated with that organization;
  • government authorities, courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law or protect rights and safety;
  • parties to a business transaction involving a potential or completed sale, transfer, financing, reorganization, or succession of GPS; and
  • other parties at your direction or with your consent.

We may disclose aggregated or deidentified information that cannot reasonably be linked to an individual.

GPS does not knowingly sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” more broadly to include certain targeted-advertising practices. If GPS uses technology that constitutes selling or sharing under an applicable law, GPS will provide the required choices and honor applicable opt-out signals.

Sponsors and advertisers do not receive a subscriber list merely because they sponsor GPS content unless GPS clearly discloses the arrangement and obtains any legally required consent.

Payment processing

Payment information is submitted to a third-party payment processor. GPS receives transaction and account information needed to complete and document the purchase but does not intend to receive or store complete card numbers or card security codes. The processor’s privacy policy applies to its handling of payment information.

Email and newsletters

If you subscribe to a newsletter or purchase a product, we may send transactional messages needed to administer your account or purchase. With consent or as otherwise permitted by law, we may also send editorial newsletters, product announcements, and marketing messages.

You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent account, security, billing, renewal, or other transactional messages.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, maintain sessions, measure performance, understand engagement, secure accounts, and support communications or marketing. See our Cookie Policy for more information.

We do not currently respond to every browser “Do Not Track” signal because there is no universal response standard. Where legally required, we will recognize a valid Global Privacy Control or other legally recognized opt-out preference signal.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing access, maintaining business and tax records, resolving disputes, enforcing licenses, preventing fraud, and complying with law.

Retention periods vary by type of information. We may retain order, payment, tax, consent, and contract records after an account closes. We may delete or deidentify information when it is no longer reasonably needed. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before routine deletion.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet transmission, account, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a strong password and protecting your credentials.

Your choices and requests

You may:

  • update certain account information through My Account;
  • cancel a subscription as described in our Subscription, Cancellation and Refund Policy;
  • unsubscribe from marketing email;
  • adjust browser or cookie settings; and
  • contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information.

We may need to verify your identity. Some information cannot be deleted when retention is required or permitted for transactions, security, legal compliance, free expression, journalism, or the establishment or defense of legal claims.

California privacy rights

If the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to GPS and to your information, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information; opt out of its sale or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and receive equal service and pricing when exercising privacy rights, subject to legal exceptions.

To submit a request, email info@gpsmarketintel.com or call 760-861-4242. Describe the request and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records. We will not require you to create an account solely to submit an opt-out request. An authorized agent may submit a request when legally permitted, subject to verification requirements.

If GPS is legally required to offer a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” or “Your Privacy Choices” mechanism, that mechanism will be made available on the website and valid Global Privacy Control signals will be honored.

Children

The website and paid products are intended for adults and business audiences, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Third-party links and embedded services

Our website may contain links, videos, forms, or other features provided by third parties. Their privacy policies govern their collection and use of information. We encourage you to review those policies. GPS is not responsible for third-party privacy practices.

Visitors outside the United States

GPS is based in California, and information may be processed and stored in the United States. If you access the website from another country, you understand that privacy laws and protections may differ. Where another law applies, GPS will provide rights required by that law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices, technology, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date indicates the latest revision. We will provide additional notice of a material change when required.
